"The Fragrant Coast" is a new make malt whiskey with a nod to Africa. Barley malting originated in ancient Egypt and frankincense was a major spice traded from Somalia into the Mediterranean. Aged in rum barrels as much of the history of rum is an East African history. The maltiness from low temperature kilning is a perfect foil for this flavor set. A window into antiquity.
