Light whiskey is a federal designation for whiskey produced in the US at not less than 160 proof but below 190 proof and stored in used or uncharred new oak containers. This release is distilled from a 60/40% corn/rye mash at 165 proof (like a brandy), barreled at 120 proof, and bottled at 100 proof. It was aged for 4 years in used rye whiskey barrels. This may remind you of a fine brandy with apricot, brown sugar, red apples, and toasted oak flavors.
