Light whiskey is a federal designation for whiskey produced in the US at not less than 160 proof but below 190 prof and stored in used or uncharred new oak containers. This Bottled-In-Bond release is distiller from a 60/40 corn/rye mash at 165 proof (like a brandy), barreled at 120 proof, and bottled at 100 proof. It was aged for 5 years in used rye whiskey barrels. This may remind you of a fine brandy with apricot, brown sugar, red apples, and toasted oak flavors.
